Building Renovations
Chabad WA is currently in renovating its premises on Alexander Drive. The building was bought by Chabad of Caulfield over 20 years ago and has been serving the Perth Jewish community since. Being that it was a residential building, 5 years ago efforts were made with Stirling Council to change the zoning from residential to public. The council were very supportive and assisted us. Chabad were given planning approval and are now in the process of attaining a building licence to start developing.
The fist stage is to renovate the current facility to comply with the Stirling Council requirements. This project is costing $150,000. This will include a new kitchen, a kiddush room, library, and new toilets. There will be a total overhaul of the external look of the building. The outside will be rendered and painted to give it a more modern look. The garden will be landscaped into an attractive and inviting area. A secure fence will be erected. The interior of the shule will be revamped, stainglassed windows, a new ceiling and better lighting. Chabad have been successful in recieving pledges of $60,000. We still need more to complete the rennovations to comply with Stirling Council. Please show your support by donating today!
